The eitms is a lot better on the m8s. It seems to be entirely based on engine temp. My 14, it had to be above 80 air temp, 10 minutes on and above a certain engine temp (not certain on that last one). The 18 will re-enter eitms even after a short stop, such as for gas.

The rear cylinder cutting out happens automatically when the set point temperature is reach. You can not roll the throttle forward to manually cut out the rear cylinder.
